LinkedIn’s New “Signal” Service

LinkedIn has a new service called Signal. They bill it as “a new way for professionals to consume information and news”. The product, currently in the beta stage, is available to all LinkedIn members and you can use it to uncover job opportunities.

You can access the service:

• Directly http://www.linkedin.com/signal
• Or from the LinkedIn menu bar, hover over News, select Signal from the drop down menu.

Using Signal To Search for Opportunities

Enter the keyword “hiring” and select your target locations and industry. What Signal will do, is sort through all contacts (first, second, third, etc.) in an particular industry that has recruiters looking to fill a job opening.  Typically the various job sites don’t have these positions which gives a candidate a leg up on finding an opportunity
